Depending on the nature of the relationship or reasons for divorce, navigating the end of a marriage can be one of the most challenging tasks in a person can face in their lifetime.  This is because emotions and tempers are usually at an all-time high and both parties may be scrambling to preserve or reclaim their sense of identity and overall well-being. 

 The ability to utilize proper boundaries during this time is more important than ever as the married couple is moving from a single interdependent unit, sharing everything from bills to intimate secrets, to two completely separate entities, where each individual is potentially playing by their own (new) set of rules.  

Time-limited therapy can help maintain a goal-oriented perspective and manage angry impulses so that that the separation can be as amicable as possible, provide the best outcome, and limit the pain and suffering that is already inherent with such an unhappy situation.
